1: DATA COLLECTION

When you become a member of OysterCafe.com we will collect personal information from you, including your name, email address, telephone number, date of birth etc. All of these details are handled in the strictest confidence and we will not release this information to anyone without your explicit consent.

1.2 Information You Provide Through Optional and Voluntary Submissions
Participating in our message boards or forums, emailing us or other members, and participation in any polls, surveys or competitions are voluntary submissions. Any personal information you choose to share on your OysterCafe.com (or the Oystercafe network) user page, forum or website will be at your own risk. However we reserve the right to use this information to better tailor our content to members' needs. This will also help us, or any current or future advertisers and sponsors, better understand the demographics of our members. Under no circumstances does Oystercafe divulge any personal information about an individual member to a third party.

1.3 Information You Share On Your Profile
You are advised not to post or display personal information and OysterCafe.com takes no responsibility for any information you do choose to display, including profile pictures.

1.4 Website Browsing and Cookies (clickstream data)
OysterCafe.com sometimes tracks and catalogues information to determine which areas of our site members like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. We may track the lessons individual members listen to or download and also how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you. We do not collect personal information about you if you only browse this website (unless you choose to provide it during communications with us). However, this website uses session cookies every time you access the site. Closing your browser after the session will not delete or destroy the cookie (this is so we can identify you in the future in relation to our 'Affiliate Scheme'). You may delete the cookie at anytime by manually deleting it from your browser, or you may choose to let our cookie expire automatically after 72 hours, meaning that you will not be identified when you return to our site.

1.5 Who do we give your information to?
We do not give your personal information to anyone, including, but not limited to government agencies, private organisations, charities, individuals or anyone else unless one of the following applies:

In the unlikely event that your information is lost or stolen OysterCafe.com will contact you via email to alert you to such an event so that you can take necessary measures.

At OysterCafe.com there are certain areas of the website which are specified as "Adults Only" and any persons under the age of 18 will be unable to access these areas. Whilst this website is not targeted at children, we understand that it is nearly impossible with any certainty to tell the age of any member, and therefore take no responsibility for accidental or explicit actions by our members (or non-members) to access these areas. Consistent with the Federal Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

OysterCafe.com operates secure data networks protected by industry standard firewall and password protection systems. Our security and privacy policies are periodically reviewed and enhanced as necessary and only authorized individuals have access to the information provided by our members.
